The doctor I work for recently moved to Shawnee, and she needs to furnish her office. She loves antique furniture, but I am at a loss as to where to tell her to start shopping. Any suggestions in Oklahoma would be appreciated.

I have some matching antique furniture. Where is the best place to sell it? A consignment shop? Advertise it? I don’t know.

While everyone can appreciate the beauty of antique furniture and family heirlooms, these hidden treasures are often left abandoned until someone stumbles upon them in their garage or attic. What are some quick and easy tips for revitalizing the look and feel of these items?

I have a 3 piece french provencial set. A couch and 2 wing chairs. The 2 chairs are in good to very good condition.The larger wingback chair has some small rips in the upholstery (courtesy of my 4 year old) which are covered by the armrest protectors. The smaller chair could use some minor touch up on the exposed wood.Structurally all are excellent. I am wondering what to list this set for. If someone wanted to reapolser this set what would they pay?

Some of the furniture is from around 1890, but most pieces are not that old. Some of the pieces are very nice, others have been refinished, which I am aware will lower the value.

Currently, my home interior company is working on a large apartment in Northeast Ohio in a city based area. We are expecting a 20 something couple to move in. Their likes are “Americana” design, Old Country or Primitive, and modern day design.

We are working with 3 bedrooms and a large living room, all in which have a medium blue colored carpet (at request) with dark walnut trim. All walls are white. We have a medium sized bathroom that is all white at the moment with a white and gold floor. The kitchen has a beigh floor, white walls and walnut trim.

Mainly we are asking for THEMES for the rooms. We are open to any suggestions. If the couple likes an idea we use from Yahoo! Answers, then there will be a reward for the answeree who gave the suggestion. This reward is TBA since we have yet to show the couple what we have come up with.

There are so many styles of interior design. Such as: Contemporary, Mediterranean, Eclectic, Modern and Old World. Which style…if any…would this fall in to? I’m wanting to decorate my front two rooms in wrought iron, mirrors and candles.
Good point Mikey! The flooring is a light beige carpet (already there when we moved in). I’m getting the walls ready to be painted. For the South wall in each room I chose a rust color and the rest of the walls will be a golden yellow. The furniture is just mix match furniture. In the future I hope to get everything to match.

Describe the changes in the way people have used the living spaces in their homes, from medieval times to the present days . Is their any way we can relate this to planning spaces in modern homes ?

I’m designing an interior courtyard (25×30′). I would like to have a lap pool (long and 8′ wide at most) in it. I’d like to see pictures of nicely designed interior courtyards, preferrably in a modern or ultra-modern style (clean lines, eichler-like).
