Need to identify this old rocker: It is a dark stained veneer, the veneer pattern has the appearance of tiger maple. The top of the rocker is carved, as well as the front of the legs in what appears to be asian motif. I know little about antique furniture, but from researching this it looks very similar to “Foo Dog” carvings, or possibly a lion. Hope you can help. Thanks.
We can afford to paint our naked walls. Our house is fairly new and the furniture is from his bachelor pad. (black leather furniture) I have to work around them. We want a bright and happy, family oriented, yet modern home. I like accent walls I just can’t think of a color scheme that goes with black.

so im buying a house and will be renovating it. i like modern/contemporary design so will probably be overhauling the interior alot. now i just needs ideas; i went to both home depot and expo design center to see what they have and that was good. also looking on the websites of a couple of las vegas casinos that i am a fan of (TheHotel, Wynn, Belaggio, skylofts…) and that was good too. also checked out armani casa.
anyone else have ideas as to where else to look for inspiration?

I just bought a second hand two seater white leather sofa, modern design with stainless steel legs.
I don’t have a theme to my living room yet, but i like modern clean cut not too fussy style but a bit warm as well.
What would you suggest for the rest of the furniture in the room be like in colour : two chairs, coffee table and TV stand.
I have white walls for now, but open to something different – all suggestions are welcome
