Contemporary furniture makes your home and office look stylish– it can blend well with aesthetics, whether in an office or at home.

Apart from looking sleek, with well defined contours, contemporary furniture adds sophistication and elegance to its surroundings. Pieces like a box side table next to beds facilitate storage of quick reference books and other small, useful items. Low beds appear cozy without being ostentatious and would look nice in any bed room, whether big or small.

Modern chairs are the type that would do any office proud with their sober shades and neatly-defined finish; and they do not occupy too much work space. Modern lighting is also a wonderful option, whether they’re chandeliers, desk lamps, floor lamps or even the table lamps. The diffused light coming from these lamps would enliven any area you would place them. None of them is gaudy or heavily set, but are perfect to add elegance to a modern home or office.

Contemporary furniture is all the rage for modern interior designers. Many would love to work in an office that has contemporary furniture, and homes with contemporary designs prove to be both functional and stylish.

I’m moving into a new condo. Long story short, it’s owned by my boyfriend’s uncle…. so he’s giving me all of the furniture that’s in there. It’s a very small one-bedroom.

I wish I had a picture, but I don’t. It’s got white walls, white carpet, white ceilings, and black furniture. Black leather sofa, black tv stand, black dining room chairs, black stools, black oriental-inspired dresser, and a black bedframe with a semi-circle headboard. The coffee table is a rectangular piece of glass over a really awesome panther-sculpture. The panther’s shoulders and hips hold up the table.

The only splash of color is the cabinets in the kitchen that have been painted a bright turquoise. The condo is much more modern than my tastes, but I’m willing to work with it. The only problem is…. I’m not completely satisfied with the way it looks just yet. I hate having so much white and black in a small space. I like the contrast, but it’s too overwhelming. Another issue is my furniture I’m bringing with me is mostly earth colors like brown and beige.

Any ideas how I could make this work? Suggestions for painting the wall another color? Or possibly the cabinets? I’m fine with turquoise but if there’s another color that works better I’m willing to give it a try.

We need light fittings, rugs, dining table and many other things to go into our new modern home. Where is the best place, town or area that we could find modern home interior designs?

My sister is doing a project for her interior design class where they have to draw and design a house with a modern theme to it and she needs some ideas on what theme to do. (for example she said some people in the past have done like a modern type of beach theme) It has to be either modern or contemporary…

i want to have a sexy elegant bachlorette type of a room,more modern then femenine, for some reason i think masculine rooms look sexier then the typical pink rooms.i have my heart set on navy colors closer to maroon than blue, violet-ish colors for the walls.
the floors are white tiles, would this compliment my wall choice?

what are some suggestions you would have for this room?

right now its just white tiles and white walls, i havnt started.

like the whole house is traditional and then one room is completely different with a modern interior?

I just bought a new house that’s BARE! I need help decorating it, but I don’t have a creative bone in my body? I love asian, contemporary, modern styles! Does anyone know of any interior design programs that utilizes actual rooms for class projects? Plus I’m broke now that I bought a new house. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! I also need landscaping ideas!!!

Need to identify this old rocker: It is a dark stained veneer, the veneer pattern has the appearance of tiger maple. The top of the rocker is carved, as well as the front of the legs in what appears to be asian motif. I know little about antique furniture, but from researching this it looks very similar to “Foo Dog” carvings, or possibly a lion. Hope you can help. Thanks.
