how do I get candle wax off antique furniture without ruining it?
candle wax got spilled down the side (of course the side you can see!) of our antique mahogany dresser. help!

put a towel over it and then run a hot iron over the towel, it will melt the wax and the towel with protect the furniture plus absorb the wax as it melts. use an old towel as you may never get the candle wax out of it and may have to use it as a rag or throw it away.
you might try putting ice on it and getting it so hard that it will flake off
The only thing that works is using an iron and a paper towel. Turn the iron on low and put the paper towel under it but on top of the object-the only problem is that this works on carpet-not sure about other objects.
Yes as above the iron works… but keep an eye on the furniture as the hot iron WILL, if youre not careful, burn the furniture… start wih a warm iron and as you go progress it hotter… but keep an eye on the furniture you are trying to clean…hot irons make a mess.
WD-40…spray it on and let it set a few mins then scrap it off with a soft cloth…
