Birdcages in interior design?

I have just bought some gorgeous bamboo birdcages from the rubbish dump near me. I know that birdcages are used quite a lot in interior design. I don’t have any birds so I want to use the cages to decorate my flat. Only problem is, it is quite a modern flat with a red, cream and light wood. Lots of clean cut edges, etc. so although I love them loads I’m struggling to get them to fit in. Any tips and especially pictures and links, to give me inspiration and ideas of what to do with them, would be greatly appreciated.

Paint Them black and white. The bars of the cage should be striped, one black, one white and on and on.
